Children are at the heart of everything Juniors does. The Play Café aims to provide a safe and welcoming space for families, where children can take part in a range of different activities designed to promote healthy physical and emotional development.
To help support the kids in the community who need it the most, Juniors has spearheaded a number of different campaigns and initiatives.
Juniors Star Kids is a wellbeing project aimed at primary school aged children. The project aims to improve kids’ self-confidence, self-esteem, and promote teamwork and communication. It does through a range of dance, drama, and song-based activities, where the children are encouraged to express their feelings and emotions and where they can learn vital coping skills.
The Football & Dance Academy is an initiative designed to promote exercise and physical activity in kids aged between 7 and 14. The Academy is free to enter, with all equipment provided through a partnership with the local charity ‘Balls and Boots’ and local dance school ‘Valerie Brown’. Juniors believes that exercise and sports opportunities should be available to all children, regardless of their social background, which is why the Football & Dance Academy is so important.
Mental health is a pressing crisis, particularly among younger at groups. That’s why Juniors created the CBT Project – Juniors Big Feeling, a children’s book designed to help kids struggling with their mental health. The book was created with the help of CBT and Counselling professionals, with over 5000 copies distributed among local schools, nurseries, and other organisations.
These are just some examples of the work Juniors does, there’s so much more going on and even more in the pipeline. That’s why we need your help to save Juniors.
