The Scottish Government’s decision to withdraw funding not only from our organisation, but from the whole of Hamilton, had a huge impact on our ability to continue our service, placing the future of Families Like Us in jeopardy.

Through imaginative fundraising events and the kind generosity of private and corporate sponsors, we have secured the future of our charity for the coming year. We knew it would be problematic to request donations from our families, many of whom face financial hardship and have felt the impact of the current financial crisis the hardest. Instead, we created sellable products that could be sold at markets and community events to raise funds and promote the service we provide.

The community of Hamilton have supported us by attending both our Santa’s Grotto and Easter events within the Regent Shopping Centre and giving generously. Local businesses have given cash donations, hosted events for us and given their time to help us fulfil commitments.
